The solemn session for granting the degree of the Undergraduate Course in Speech-Language Therapy for the students of the 42nd class of the Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de São Paulo (FMUSP) was held today, December 21, 2021, at the FMUSP Theater.
The central table of the ceremony was composed by Prof. Daniela Regina Molini Avejonas, who had the distinction of being chosen as paranymph of the class, Professors Elizabeth Maria Freire de Araújo Lima and Alessandra Giannella Samelli, in addition to Prof. Milton de Arruda Martins, President of the Graduation Committee and Prof. Tarcisio Eloy Pessoa de Barros Filho, Director of FMUSP.
“The Department of Physiotherapy, Speech Therapy and Occupational Therapy at Faculdade Medicina da USP will always be open to you, whether for a conversation or for the continuity of studies, specialization courses and graduate studies. I wish you all a lot of happiness”, were the words of Professor Elizabeth Maria Freire de Araújo Lima.
Prof Milton Martins celebrated the fact that the ceremony could bring together students and their families in the same environment and reiterated that the Faculdade de Medicina will always be open to its students. Prof. Tarcisio highlighted the social responsibility that graduates carry: “we have to give back to the society that formed us, we have to give back to everyone who invested in our training. This is essential in our work as professionals and as citizens as well.
”Then it was the turn of the class speaker, Maria Vitoria do Amaral. “I wanted to talk a little bit about individuality, the internal challenge of each one, about competence, resilience and empathy”, she said, in a speech that recalled the effort and motivation shown by the students to reach that moment, ending with a reminder to take in the achievement: “appreciate the opportunities we had here.
”Finally, the students took an oath and were invited to the table, located on top of the stage, to receive their diplomas.
