Prof. Tania Maria Sih, of the Legal Medicine, Medical Ethics, Social and Occupational Medicine Department of FMUSP, has received the certificate of Honorary Ambassador of Otorhinolaryngology, granted by the Child Health Center of the Russian Federation Ministry of Health.

The recognition was received in august, soon after the trip in which she lectured in Moscow, Ulan Bator and Beijing, capitals of the Russian Federation, Mongolia and the Popular Republic of China, respectively. Mongolia is the 60th country in which professor Tania Sih has already given lectures.

The former president of the International Society for Orthomolecular Medicine (ISOM) and of the Otorhinolaryngology Scientific Department of the Brazilian Pediatric Society (SBP), the specialist was granted in 2018 with the title of Honorary Fellowship by the American College of Surgeons (ACS). In a little more than 100 years of existence, the ACS has awarded 12 of the most prominent surgeons in the world, including another FMUSP professional, Prof. Samir Rasslan, Titular Professor of the Surgery Department of FMUSP. She is the first woman to assume the position of president of the World Congress of Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology, held in April of this year, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She has over 35 published books in several languages, most of which are available online for free.
