About the Program

Students enrolled in foreign institutions as undergraduate students may attend classes at USP Medical School (FMUSP) as undergraduate exchange students, thus obtaining credits or developing academic research compatible with their subject fields. To apply, the student must come from a university that has an international exchange agreement specifically with FMUSP (check the list of partner institutions here). Important: for students studying at non-affiliated Institutions, there is another hospital practical experience program, organized by our Institution, called HCFMUSP Experience (all information can be found on the website: https://en.hcxfmusp.org.br/portal/online/curso/hcfmusp-experience/).

  • be enrolled in a medical course at a Foreign Education Institution;
  • have an excellent academic record;
  • be nominated by the international office of your home university (see topic "how to apply");

Applications are open always one semester before the exchange period:

Exchange on the 1st semester (January - June): Applications between August 1st and September 15th

Exchange on the 2nd semester (August - December): Applications between February 1st and March 15th

*there is no mobility in July

Results: around 30 days after the application closes.

To attend the Electives: depend on the elective (most of them are offered to English speakers)

USP is a public state institution that receives exchange students at no cost.
