FMUSP offers 4 undergraduate courses: Medicine, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Speech Therapy.Check out below the requirements for each of the courses and the available exchange opportunities:

  • Exchange students may join 5th-year courses under the same rules as local students, with the understanding that their participation is strictly observational, unless explicitly authorized by the faculty member. They are expected to follow the regular activities of the course, such as assessments, assignments, and other academic requirements.
  • They have to attend, at least, 75% of the course and undertake the exams to be evaluated.
  • Advanced Portuguese is mandatory (C1 level or higher).
  • Duration: 25 weeks (1st semester - 8th January - 30th June) / 18 weeks (2nd semester - July - November)It is mandatory to take the full schedule - 6 months (only one or two disciplines are not possible - in this case, the category below - Electives - should be selected).
  • Maximum duration: 1 semester per student (no exchange extension is allowed).
  • Only students from partner institutions can apply.

  • The Electives Program is a structured shadowing opportunity, focused on observation. It allows students to watch procedures and surgeries, follow patient rounds, attend teaching conferences, and access the FMUSP library system..
  • It is not possible to combine Internship (category above) and Electives.
  • Portuguese proficiency depends on the course, check it individually.
  • Start and end dates - Check here the available dates
  • Minimum of 4 weeks (1 single elective).
  • Maximum of 12 weeks (3 different electives).

  • Workload: from 105h to 160h / month


  • Exchange students can attend the disciplines of Physical Therapy with the same rights and duties as local students. They have to attend, at least, 75% of the course and undertake the exams to be evaluated. 
  • Only students from Partner Institutions can apply.
  • Intermediate Portuguese if mandatory.
  • Practical classes are not available
  • Minimum of 12 credits.
