The Bariatric Endoscopy Live Global (BELG), which addresses bariatric and metabolic endoscopic therapies and management of post-surgical bariatric surgery events, was held on October 1st, 2021. The event's main feature is the format, in which classes and contents are broadcast online and live, with the participation of professionals from all continents.

The organization of BEL-G is made by Prof. Eduardo Guimarães Hourneaux de Moura, Associate Professor at the Department of Gastroenterology, of the Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de São Paulo (FMUSP) and Director of the Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Service at the Central Institute of Hospital das Clínicas (HC) at FMUSP, in partnership with Prof. Christopher C. Thompson, of Harvard University School of Medicine, Director of Endoscopy and Co-Director of the Center for Weight Management and Wellness of the Brigham and Women's Hospital, and Founder and Member of the Bariatric Endoscopy Association in the United States.

2,677 experts from 109 countries participated. Live images and cases were broadcast from 14 centers of excellence around the world: Mumbai, India; Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; Strasbourg, France; Cairo, Egypt; Petach Tikva, Israel; Rome Italy; Miami, United States; Rochester, United States; Brussels Belgium; São Paulo (HCFMUSP), Brazil; West Virginia, United States; Boston (Harvard University), United States; New York, United States; and Denver, United States.

Prof. Eduardo Moura attributed the success and international recognition to the dedication and competence of everyone involved, directly and indirectly. Special thanks were made to Prof. Paulo Sakai, Prof. Marco Aurélio Santo, Prof. Sergio Carlos Nahas, Prof. Luiz Augusto Carneiro D'Albuquerque, Prof. Flair José Carrilho, Prof. Eloisa Silva Dutra de Oliveira Bonfa and Prof. Aluisio Augusto Cotrim Segurado, in addition to Eng.
