Kids Save Lives Brasil (KSLB), a project offered by Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de São Paulo (FMUSP), carried out, on May 6, 2022, training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation for more than 130 entrance exam students at the Anglo prep course, at the Tamandaré, in São Paulo. The initiative is part of the worldwide campaign World Restart a Heart, dedicated to the practice of basic life support.

“All the university students were very interested and committed to learning and teaching others about cardiopulmonary resuscitation and the use of the AED [automated external defibrillator]”, says Prof. Naomi Kondo Nakagawa, of Physiotherapy, Speech Therapy and Occupational Therapy Department at FMUSP and Coordinator of the KSLB.

Formed by professors, students, researchers and collaborators at FMUSP, Fundação Faculdade de Medicina (FFM) and other volunteers, Kids Save Lives Brasil is a social inclusion project that offers guidance and practical training for children, adolescents and adults, especially primary, secondary and higher education network. The knowledge covered is about identification procedures and initial actions in emergency situations such as acute stroke, cardiorespiratory arrest, choking, acute myocardial infarction and drowning in non-hospital environments.
