Students from classes 47, 48 and 49 of the Undergraduate Course in Occupational Therapy at the Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de São Paulo (FMUSP) participated today, January 10, 2022, in the formal degree granting session at the FMUSP Theater.

The central table of the ceremony was composed by Prof. Erika Alvarez Inforsato, chosen as paranymph, Professors Naomi Kondo and Selma Lancman, from the Department of Physiotherapy, Speech Therapy and Occupational Therapy at FMUSP, in addition to Prof. Roger Chammas, Vice-Director of FMUSP.

Addressing the undergraduates, Prof. Erika Alvarez Inforsato said: “This is the time to think about the ethical and political implications of the knowledge acquired by you during these years of university education and which from now on will be integrated into the relationship with everyone who needs your care.”

“May the transition to the professional life of each one be as rich as the student life”, wished Prof. Selma Lancman.

Prof. Naomi Kondo reminded students to fully exercise the Occupational Therapy process, helping everyone who seeks them out for a better quality of life.

Prof. Roger Chammas stressed that students should carry forward the values ​​of respect for others, respect for science and empathy. “You will be ambassadors for our Faculty in your professional lives”, he concluded.

Finally, student Rafaela Gomes Camargo led the new graduates through the oath and they were invited to receive their diplomas
