A team from the National Supplementary Health Agency (ANS) was at the Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de São Paulo (FMUSP), on July 4th, 2022, and talked with the Board and professors about the ANS being open to the participation of academia in the their discussions and activities for a greater plurality of voices and, consequently, benefits for the whole society.
The meeting was held in the Congregation room and was attended by Paulo Roberto Vanderlei Rebello Filho, President Director, Eliane Aparecida de Castro Medeiros, Inspection Director and Maurício Nunes da Silva, Sector Development Director, all from ANS.
“We live in an increasingly dynamic world, ANS needs to find means and mechanisms to deliver better assistance and benefits. The Agency is open to dialogue and I believe that working with the USP School of Medicine will bring positive results. This proximity to an institution of high quality in teaching and research only adds to the value, since the regulation in the ANS is a forum to discuss integration”, declared the Director-President of ANS, Paulo Rebello.
The solemn table was led by Prof. Tarcisio Eloy Pessoa de Barros Filho, FMUSP Director, and also by Prof. Eloisa Silva Dutra de Oliveira Bonfá, Clinical Director of Hospital das Clínicas da FMUSP, and Dr. Arnaldo Hossepian Junior, Director-President of the Faculty of Medicine Foundation (FFM).
Prof. Tarcisio E. P. Barros Filhos praised that any public or private system, if it does not work with defined guidelines and protocols, will not be successful and made the Faculty of Medicine available for frequent dialogue with the ANS.
“The teaching hospitals can help with escalation, in the judicialization process, because we are on duty 24 hours a day. So, what is implemented with good results in our institution can be taken to other instances”, said Prof. Eloisa Bonfá, highlighting the frequent dialogue with ANS.
The Doctor. Arnaldo Hossepian emphasized: “we have professionals in the medical field of the highest competence, who have the mission of caring for others, and the foundations present in the HCFMUSP Complex can also contribute because they are institutions with public interest”.
