In a hybrid ceremony held on the premises of the Early Childhood Education Development Center (CEDEI) on September 29, 2021, Professors Miguel Srougi and William Carlos Nahas officialized the delivery of the construction work carried out at the nursery of the Hospital das Clínicas (HC) of the Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade deSão Paulo (FMUSP).
The event was followed online by the HCFMUSP Complex community and benefactors. It also had the presence of Prof. Dr. Roger Chammas, Vice-Director of FMUSP and Vice-President of the Deliberative Council of HCFMUSP; of Prof. Dr. Flávio Fava de Moraes, General Director of the Faculty of Medicine Foundation (FFM); of Prof. Dr. Aluisio Augusto Cotrim Segurado, President of the Board of Directors of the Central Institute (IC) of HCFMUSP; Dr. Lucila Pedroso, Executive Director of the IC of HCFMUP; José Luis de Lira, Coordinator of the People Management Nucleus (NGP), representing the Superintendent of HCFMUSP, Eng. Antonio José Rodrigues Pereira and collaborators from HCFMUSP.
The nursery received a new painting job throughout its entire area, keeping the works of plastic artist Gustavo Rosa; new furniture; toys; improvements in physical activity and recreation environments; and a reception room for educators. The purpose of the renovation was to create a humanized environment that would provide adequate facilities for the healthy growth of children - all sons and daughters of FMUSP-HC System collaborators.
“This reform has a humanistic value and, more than that, it represents a acknowledgment from the Hospital das Clínicas of the Faculty of Medicine of USP and its directors to the employees of the institution that, in this moment of pandemic, in which all of us were affected, no one shone more that our collaborators in all society. The employees of this institution were examples of compassion and revealed the most noble value of the soul, which is the spirit of solidarity towards others”, said Prof. Dr. Miguel Srougi with great pride to all present.
During his presentation, the Head of Urology at FMUSP, presented the constructions carried out at the Urology Division, thanking all the benefactors who made these improvements in the HCFMUSP Complex possible: João Alves de Queiroz Filho, Eduardo Lafer Piva, Carlos Alberto de Oliveira Andrade (in memoriam) and Rubens Ometto Silveira de Mello. The tribute was extended to his social gesture by the collaborators of CEDEI.
