Students from the Nursing School of Universidade de São Paulo were, on July 8, 2022, at the Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de São Paulo participate in one of the practical activities of the Human Structural Topography discipline, which is part of the curriculum of the Undergraduate Nursing course and is offered through a partnership between both institutions.

The objectives of the Human Structural Topography course are to provide a total knowledge of the human body, including each of the systems and the relationship between the organs, which act to carry out the vital functions of the organism. It is offered by the FMUSP Surgery Department, under the responsibility of Associate Professor Alfredo Luiz Jacomo and with the cooperation of Professor Flávio Carneiro Hojaij.

Nursing undergraduates take this subject in the second year, for a period of one semester, with a workload of 60 hours. The students of the FMUSP, on the other hand, study in the first, second, third and fifth year during the Graduation, and she is also inserted in the Medical Residency course, first year (R1), in General Surgery.

During these classes, the construction of knowledge is done through theory and, to a large extent, through practical investigations, in which the science of human anatomy is used. In addition to sectional anatomy, which is similar to an imaging test, such as CT and MRI.
