The Technical Division of Support to Teaching, Research and Innovation (DTAPEPI) of the Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de São Paulo (FMUSP) held a meeting on June 10, 2022, with the newly established objective of stimulating integration between collaborators of the Biotechnology Nucleus and of the Support Service for Pre-Clinical Research.

The event was organized by the DTAPEPI Board of Directors, which in January of this year was responsible for opening the expansion and renovation of the Pre-Clinical Research Support Service building and, in recent months, has worked to organize the new nucleus. This allowed “the creation of a single, shared space, with complementary services and a park of equipment, for cell culture, such as molecular and cellular biology, available for multi-users”, says Marluci Mantovani, laboratory specialist. She also emphasizes: “integration comes to add and aggregate, after we have done all our installation, and complement with the new area of animal experimentation”.

DTAPEPI works with animal production and experimentation, laboratory, zebra fish, scientific documentation service and biorepository. Meets research demands from the FMUSP-HC Complex, USP units and the Vivarium Network of the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq). “External researchers can use it and are welcome, as long as they are registered in the PREMiUM Network. In addition, our expertise has been sought and allows us to provide consultancy and training for new projects and institutions”, says Carlos Eduardo de Lemos, administrative director of the Pre-Clinical Research Support Service.
